بنفیکا تا قبل از خوردن گل اول بسیار خوب بازی رو در اختیار گرفته بود ولی از موقعی که حرکات فردی بازیکنان چلسی بیشتر شد بازی از دستشون رفت . اما بالاخره ایوانویچ خیال چلسی و همه ی هوادارانش رو راحت کرد و برای اولین بار باعث شد لیگ اروپا به تیمی از کشوری غیر از اسپانیا و پرتغال برسه .
